At the 40th Annual Conference of the Japanese Society for Artificial Intelligence (JSAI 2026), we will hold a proposed session titled "How Computer Science can Contribute to Anime Production: Challenges and Potentials". While generative AI is attracting attention, this session will provide an opportunity to comprehensively understand the challenges in introducing information technologies to anime production, which are often overlooked when focusing solely on AI.
We will introduce the forefront of research and development supporting anime production and the potential of human-AI collaboration and creativity support. We will also discuss how AI research can contribute to the production field through panel discussions and audience Q&A.
The first half consists of three talks, followed by a panel discussion and audience Q&A with all speakers in the second half.
